Glengarry Wines is proud to unveil Highland Park's 54-Year-Old single malt, a masterful creation marking the distillery's 225th anniversary. This rare edition, limited to just 225 bottles globally, is distilled from a meticulous selection of four refill butts and six refill hogsheads originally laid down in 1968. After maturing in these casks, the whisky was transferred in 2008 into first-fill European sherry butts, where it spent another 14 years reaching its perfect peak.
Guided by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion, this whisky embodies a delicate balance of deep, complex flavours. At 46.9% ABV, it presents a rich, natural autumnal russet colour, achieved without chill filtration. The palate is a symphony of heather honey, rich peat, and spiced dried fruits, intricately woven with notes of lychee, camphor, and aged oak. The finish is a harmonious blend of sweet and spicy undertones, crowned with a lingering smoky essence.
Each bottle is encased in hand-carved oak, inspired by the rugged, wind-swept cliffs of Yesnaby in Orkney. The glass decanter echoes the textured appearance of Yesnaby's sandstone and the ancient monoliths at the Ring of Brodgar. These elements reflect the natural processes that shaped these iconic cliffs, including historical volcanic activity. Each bottle showcases not only premium whisky but also the distinct geological heritage of its origin.
